Loving God through Loving His People
Loving God through Loving His People

Don’t let Man Cause you to Lose out on the Promised Land

You tried to wear your Pastor down

You tried to make his smile a frown.

But just wait until your father gets home.

You can run around judging what others do

Thinking you got the Holy Ghost because people are scared of you

But just wait until your father gets home.

You keep saying you know about Christ

But it’s no reason to change your life

But just wait, until your father comes home.

You may have been like this since you left home

But I told you, “He” hasn’t left you alone.

But just wait until your father gets home.

You may have been a sinner for many years

But God is going to bring your end to tears.

Just wait until your father gets home

Because nothing happened when I prayed for you to stop

You thought I was cold instead of hot

But just wait until your father gets home.

I tried to tell you what is right

But instead of listening you want to fight.

But just wait until your father gets home.

Now he is here and you didn’t see him coming.

So don’t come to my house running.

You mocked you bucked and kicked against the fence

“Now you want me to give you some sense?”

I told you many times what you needed to do.

So don’t ask me now to pray for you

Now your father is finally home

So tell him, Welcome Home Daddy.

The Lord spoke unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them” Numbers 20:12

Have you ever felt that there are no jobs in the church for you to do?
Have you wanted to be on a committee in the church but felt that you had nothing to offer?
Do you feel empty and bored in church because your hand can’t find anything to do?

Well if you answered yes to any of these questions here is another way in which you can say yes to assisting your church. These are helpful tips that can get rid of that left out feeling and make you feel great about assisting your church and family.

·         How about volunteering to go to church functions that the pastor can’t make. You won’t need a meeting and you won’t need permission just show up and say I am a representative from my church that has come to assist you in your program. (Please bring an offering).

·         Volunteer for a CASA organization and counsel woman who are looking for the answers and invite them to church.

·         Start a food pantry it doesn’t have to be at the church if there is no room but do it from your house. Canned goods are very inexpensive.

·         Do one dollar yard sales from donations at the church and save the money for the church mission.

·         Get to know your neighbors, knock on some doors and invite others to church or just fellowship with them.

·         Start a youth group or penny drive.

Do you have any skills such as computer, typing, parenting advice, knitting, writing, dancing, sewing, quilting etc.  every gift counts. Share them with others.

·         Volunteer to do the opening prayer for Bible study or Sunday service. You may even volunteer to do a noon day prayer if none is in place.

·         Grow a garden for the church beautification (fresh flowers in church every Sunday)

·         Visit a nursing home and witness to the elderly. Volunteer to read stories or assist in crafts.

·         Start a make a friend campaign where you challenge youth and adults to make a friend and come in and share the experiences of how they formatted friendship or better yet bring the friend to church.

·         Gather recipes and create a church cookbook make it available for sale. Or have a church dinner where everyone gets to try out some of the members delectables.

·         Go visit the homeless and learn their stories you may be very interested to find out that there struggles began much like ours; if you want to take it to another level write a book and give proceeds to homeless institutions. You may put there stories in a newspaper or magazine. Come up with a list of their needs and don’t forget to invite church members to assist you. Take them to church or other organizations for assistance.

·         Become a prayer warrior for the pastor and the family this can be done in your own home.

These are just a few things that you can do to help your church. The best part of all is you don’t need permission from the pastor and you don’t need a meeting; your pastor will be pleased as punch that you are assisting and growing in the ministry.

P. S. don’t worry you won’t ever feel bored or left out again if you start one of these committees.

If you have any other ideas for assisting your pastor in the ministry please feel free to post them at prayer request or testimonials or you can send us a letter or postcard at the church address.
