My Church Don’t Work

 

Every time they say something will get done

They put in position all the wrong ones.

We can’t pay our tithes we’re in a recession

So how can I expect to look to God for a blessing?

The missionaries won’t help; the members don’t pray

I don’t even know why I stay

Every Sunday I come to church

I look at all the people not doing their work.

The songs are off key many are not there

So why is everyone expecting me to care.

The Sunday school is small Wednesday nights are gone down

But you keep telling me to press on for the crown.

I tell you folks my church just won’t work..

And … neither do I.

 

I must work the works of him that sent me while it is day,
